Bayanzurkh 100 is one of several Rotary Clubs in Ulaanbaatar and one of its two English-speaking clubs. The club’s name means “rich heart” and corresponds to the city district in which it was formed. The “100” refers to the year it was chartered, the Rotary year 2004-2005, which coincided with both Rotary International’s 100th anniversary celebrations and the 10th anniversary of the founding of Mongolia’s first Rotary Club in 1996.

The members of Bayanzurkh 100 Rotary Club include Mongolians and non-Mongolians who play important roles in the life of their home city. Many hold important positions in business, government, academia, NGOs and other political, economic, and cultural organizations.

Despite Mongolia’s genuine resources and potential, its citizens face daunting challenges, including widespread poverty and unemployment, lack of access to quality water, food and medical care, and a crumbling educational sector. Our Club seeks to work closely with the Mongolian government, domestic and international organizations and other Rotary Clubs around the world to undertake projects that make a real difference to the quality of lives of the Mongolian citizens.
